Destiny 2: The new anniversary patch and new Exotics

In Destiny 2, two new Exotics were brought into play with the anniversary patch. What they are and how they are received by the players, we show you here.

What kind of weapons are these? There are two new Exotics. The Gjallarhorn known from Destiny 1, it brought the son of Oryx to his knees every time. And a gun based on Halo. Both weapons were implemented in the game as part of Bungie’s 30th anniversary. Guardians now have the opportunity to chase after them after the 3.4.0 update.

How do I have access to the weapons? The “Forerunner” pistol can be acquired by any player, with or without purchased anniversary DLC. With the Gjallarhorn, however, you must have acquired the DLC, otherwise you will not have access to the associated quest.

A legend and a crossover too

Anyone who has played Halo and Destiny 1 knows both weapons. The Gjallarhorn is one of the most blatant weapons a boss has ever seen in Destiny history. Every Halo fan should enjoy the pistol, because it is based on the look of the well-known M6 Magnum.

What can the weapon do? The exotic rocket launcher in the heavy slot sends a rocket to your enemies. If the projectile hits your desired target, it splits into smaller target-seeking cluster projectiles that search for enemies again. The homing module in the weapon supports you in this. With this, every targeted enemy is pursued by the missile. Does the weapon withstand its reputation at the time? The community does not give the impression that the weapon is so OP that you have to lock it up behind Nerf bars. The Guardians’ new toy is actually well balanced and has a good reputation.

In addition, it remains to be seen whether the players will not help the weapon to its old OP status thanks to sophisticated builds.

What can the weapon do? This is a pistol that is powered with special ammunition. You can fire individual shots or fire fully automatically at your enemies and thus benefit from an increased rate of fire.

For a pistol, the Forerunner has an outstanding range with an almost maximum reload speed. The new ratchet shines with almost all stats and even has a telescopic sight when aiming.

What do the Guardians say? Guardians are excited that Bungie is finally bringing a high-impact pistol to the collection. They also say that the weapon does well with a submachine gun. With such a combination you have covered every distance and have a hand-sized sniper too.

Bungie has delivered very powerful exo-weapons in Destiny 2 that are really balanced. Only time will tell if the Nerf hammer will be thrown again. For now, however, the Guardians have time to hunt down new treasures and benefit from them.
